TimesTen的操作系统，数据库和虚拟化软件支持列表

在my oracle support上查了一下最新的timesten版本 11.2.2.8.0的支持列表。 支持的操作系统 Apple Mac OS X (Intel) (64-bit) HP-UX Itanium IBM AIX on POWER Systems (32-bit/64-bit) Linux (x86/86-64) Microsoft Windows (32-bit/64-bit) Oracle Solaris

其实用的最多的还是Linux，支持的版本为：

Linux x86-64 MontaVista Carrier Grade 6.0/5.0

支持的虚拟化软件

Oracle VM
Oracle VM Server for x86

其实TimesTen支持虚拟化还是有必要的，TimesTen作为应用层缓存，应该归入到中间件的范畴，有的用户中间层全部用虚拟化实现，这时TimesTen对于VMware, Xen和Hyper-V的支持就比较重要了。不过，Oracle秉承对于Oracle数据库的同样策略，就是不支持除OVM之外的hypervisor, :(
我在Workstation和VirtualBox上跑TimesTen，一点问题都没有，而且测试的时候比HP的刀片还快，:)

支持的中间件

这里只谈Oracle自己的中间件ODI和GoldenGate
对于GoldenGate支持将TimesTen作为目标，也就是可以将其它数据库的数据加载到TimesTen，这时TimesTen作为integration point，反之则不行。
ODI也一样，可以将支持SQL-92标准的数据库的数据加载到TimesTen。
TimesTen作为数据集成点的典型用法是在Exalytics中，作为内存中的aggregation和Data Mart。

正如 TimesTen Replication Using GoldenGate: Sample Configuration (Doc ID 1099523.1) 所说：

GoldenGate now provides the ability to pass data from Oracle to TimesTen. At this time, the only possible configuration is a Master:Subscriber format from Oracle to TimesTen where data and transactions on that data can be replicated from an Oracle database to a TimesTen database; it is presently not possible to replicate data from TimesTen to Oracle.

支持的集群软件

只支持Oracle自己的ClusterWare，版本为11.2.0.2，11.2.0.3和11.2.0.4
ClusterWare对于构建TimesTen集群非常重要！

TimesTen支持作为以下数据库的缓存：

Oracle Database 12.1.0.1.0
Oracle Database 11.2.0.4.0
Oracle Database 11.2.0.3.0
Oracle Database 11.2.0.2.0

Oracle Database 10.2.0.5.0

这里并非所有的版本都支持所有的数据库，例如对于X86-64 RHEL 6，就只支持11.2.0.3之后的版本。
